God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Grace is the power of God to do and to be all that He has asked of us. It is His loving kindness to pour into us His power. There is nothing like having a humble heart that allows us to rest in all of our life challenges instead of fighting the providence of God. One of the most needed lessons of the Church is to re-learn that heaven reigns in all of the affairs of men. Even that trial that you are going through right now has been allowed by God for some very positive purposes. But you must learn how to die to self well. It's one thing to have to die for your sins. But are you willing to take the hit for the assault of someone else's sins against you? Are you willing to take the blame so that others can go free? That's being like Jesus too. I know that all of your "that's not fair" statements and all of your "I don't want to be a doormat" thoughts will try to stop you. But no one has ever willing died to themselves by faith but that God has not given them a supernatural power and rest in the fiery furnace. When you're in the Refiner's Fire, or when someone else is, then the impurities will surface. That is where you can either choose to judge the fire out of others (and yourself), or you can realize that God has allowed this conflict of life to bring the impurities to the surface so they can be removed. That's dying to self too. If the Church can ever learn that, then they will walk in true unity, and God will be able to bless them with resurrection power. But too many people are looking for the power of His resurrection without being willing to die to self, and it isn't working. Dying is very painful. We go through the grief process. Very few will let us go through it without criticizing us and accusing us. But don't worry. God will deal with them. You just let God bring you through, and you will truly be a different person.

Freedom from emotional tension, financial fears, relationship problems, certain people, pain, or one's own self is more of a heart cry than we realize in America. For a nation that prides itself on freedom there are a lot of people who are not truly free. Sometimes God doesn't free us from situations by taking them away. He frees us by teaching us how to "dance on the devil's doorstep." When our Adversary expects to look out and see us crying in despair, he sees us laughing and dancing instead, that is freedom.

There are many things that people expect that they don't even realize they are expecting. For example, whenever the hint of bad news or sickness comes along we expect trouble, misery and difficulty. If we have a financial threat we expect hard times. But the key to living in true freedom and living a new life in the Spirit includes right expectations of faith. Expectations that are based on faith will always release the life of the Holy Spirit to work in the moment. We need more than a far off hope of comfort and help. By the expectations of faith we can experience the present power of the Holy Spirit to supply all that we need for freedom and happiness both for ourselves and for others.

There is nothing like experiencing hope that can't be robbed. Faith in God is like that. However, the influence of the world is what keeps so many from experiencing such hope. If there is one thing that wars against our hope and faith it is the world. Overcoming the world is the key to victory, and it is done by faith alone. "This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith." All of the hidden thoughts and unspoken expectations to have to measure up to some worldly standard is so debilitating. But God gives us a victory that is not based upon performance - a joy that is not situational. He gives us power no matter what the world may bring to us.

Abraham's faith demonstrated and established your own blessing from God based solely upon faith. To learn the depths of what God has promised you in the blessing of Abraham will unfold a treasure chest of hope and power to stand no matter what is coming against you. A few nights before this message God put a scripture verse in my heart as I slept. I kept waking up and quoting this verse all night long. It is part of your intended blessing. "The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are as bold as a lion." You can have that boldness by faith alone in what God has promised you because of His faithfulness to Abraham.

Faith is exactly the opposite of every human reason why we should believe. This is the kind of faith that causes supernatural rivers of life to flow from our inmost being. God creates a faith in the deepest part of who we really are. It is a place where we are known in the inmost areas of our desires, secrets, and memories. That's where faith is nurtured and that's where life really comes from. This message includes an understanding of what it really means to fast, and why. It is part of the vision for a full life of purpose and power.

Jesus spoke about a river of life coming from our inmost being. He won't just give us a refreshing drink when our soul is beaten down and empty. He will create a source of strength right from within us if we are willing to grow in faith in who He is. This fountain will come from our inner most being, right there where we have our deepest longings, hurts, and secret temptations. This is not a surface thing, but it is something that God works out in the very depths of who we really are. It is there that an inner source of strength comes from.

The conclusion to this message shows how the plan of God works in relationships when all seems lost. He has a higher and better intention for our lives than we could ever imagine. What seems to be a tragedy in life relationships is turned into the very bedrock for triumph over darkness and despair. If people would only recognize the hand of God working in their darkest hours and embrace the moment, they wouldn't so nearly as often miss the best things in life. To learn to live in dignity under pressure, and to learn to be trusted with authority and power by embracing the hard times with grace and understanding is true freedom. This is what prepares us to treat others with grace when we are in a position of power and blessing.

There are life defining times in our lives when we don't understand why God allows such difficulties. They usually involve being hurt by those that we depended upon, those close to us. We cry out against what we see as injustice. But God has an incredible plan to use what seems so wrong to create something powerful in your life.

The conclusion of the message on the coming destruction of sin has caused many people to have to decide if they want to continue on with the coming move of the Holy Spirit. Some simply have demonstrated that they do not have that vision. There are reasons why a national sweeping revival has not yet happened in our generation. Without a vision of what God wants to do there is not the heart to complete the preparation. Decide if you are one of those that is going to be a part of the answer to the sins that plague our nation.
